We’re going to Japan! We’ve been planning on going to Japan to visit the Sue’s (and my new) family and all her friends, this spring since she was pregnant. It appears spring has crept up on us, because we have our tickets. We leave on March 17th around noon and arrive at Tokyo’s Narita airport at 4:30PM on the 18th. I’m really not looking forward to the 14 hour flight, especially when we’ll have an 11 month old baby with us, but until they develop transporters, what can you do.

We will be there for 10 days, and our agenda is rapidly filling up with visits, but there are two activities I will absolutly make time for. First is a visit to the electronics district. Things aren’t really cheaper over there, but they get the coolest stuff. Of course I’m a confirmed gadget freak (PSP), so I know it will be hard to maintain control (new camera). I think I’ll have to leave the credit card in the hotel (clie). The other thing I plan to do is spand a night at a local bar. I think you get a real experience of a place by spending time in one of the bars. Tourist stuff is fun too, especially if it’s actually historical or cultural (and not just a money trap). I’m going to have to find one that isn’t all foreigners, but where they locals do at least speak some english, which may be a bit of a challenge (and that may the leading understatement on this site).
