Google Calendar, thanks, but no thanks.

Well it looks like google calendar is up and running. I played around with it for a bit, and while the interface is nice, I’ll be sticking with my personal Exchange server, and the work/home/treo data replication I’ve got setup. Now if there was a way to sync gCal and Exchange… hmmm…

Gahoo!Yoogle.com

I hadn’t run across this before, so for all I know it may be old news. Anyway, Gahoo!Yoogle.com is a kinda nifty service that let’s you search Yahoo! and Google at once and displays the result in a split screen view. I suppose ti might be nice, if your one of those who likes multiple engines, I for one pretty much just stick with google.

Gmail Users Soon Able to Check E-Mail Via Outlook

Nice development that I have been looking forward to for a while.
>Web search leader Google Inc. said on Wednesday it will soon make it possible for users of its free Gmail service to check their e-mail via Microsoft Outlook or on certain handheld devices such as mobile phones. Google said it is adding POP, or post office protocol, access to Gmail for all users over the next couple of weeks. The move will enable Gmail users to download a copy of their messages through other .e-mail?

I’m not quite 100% about it though for two main reasons.

- Why POP?  Why not IMAP?  How will they handle deletes?
- No gmail UI features.  What will happen to my labels?

We’ll wait and see…
