In case you’re too lazy or clumsy to hand roll your sushi, you can buy the Sushi@Home to help. I agree with Gizmodo, with a proper mat, sushi isn’t that hard.

How Mobile Phones Conquered Japan

It’s a fairly well known fact that the Japanese love their cell phones. I wasn’t really sure of the accuracy of this “fact” until I went there, but i can tell you it’s true. One day I was taking a ride on the train, looked up, and I swear 90% of the people in the car were busy poking away at their cell phones. Wired has an article about the book Personal, Portable, Pedestrian: Mobile Phones in Japanese Life that delves deeper into the how and why of this phenomena.
I haven’t picked it up yet, but I’ll let you know when I do, until then chime in if you’ve read it.
